I for one love a good picnic. There is nothing better that getting a big group of people together, with more food than you’ve ever eaten before, drinks, games and of course the sunshine. The end of the month sees the annual LGBT ‘Pink Picnic’ come to town.
Held once again in Cannon Hill Park, the Pink Picnic is organised for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community and their friends and families all picnic fun loving people are welcome.
Birmingham LGBT Community Trust, this event is a more low-key family oriented affair than Gay Pride which was held back in May. Several other community groups turned out in force last year including the Older Lesbians Network, Gay Youth, and Rainbow Voices. Impromptu games of French cricket and other games took place last year so remember to pack your balls.
The picnic will take place from noon until around 5:00 p.m. in Cannon Hill Park near to the bandstand; look out for the rainbow flags!
