Today the Drum in Birmingham are doing their bit to help the people of Haiti. Following the devastating earthquake last month, charities, singers and artists have all clubed together to help make a difference. Now it’s time for us brummies to do our bit.
Combining education and entertainment the community event will raise funds for people affected by the tragic Haiti Earthquake.
2pm – 5pm will be The Truth about Haiti, Lecture and Discussion, hosted by Professor Robert Beckford, giving you a chance to learn about Haiti’s unique history – past, present and future.
6pm – 9pm will be the Action For Haiti Concert consisting of live and energetic performances from local & national artists comprising of music, poetry, dance and more.Hosted by Newstyle Radio’s G-Man and DJ Jayson Wynters.
For tickets they’ll be asking for a £5 donation for adults and a £3 donation for under 16’s. You can buy tickets on the door or call the Drum Box office on 01213332444 to book in advance.
They’ll also be collecting shoes, clothes and supplies on the all day so clean out your wadrobe and bring your donations.
