I’m extremely excited about the Good Food Show tomorrow. Not only have I practised my yes-I’ll-go-out-with-you expression for when I bump into the gorgeous James Martin, but I have even sorted out my ingredients for the Invention Test – just in case some backs out!  Tomorrow is the last day of the Autumn/Winter Birmingham Good Food Show at the NEC, and highlights will include live demos from The Hairy Bikers and the lush James Martin, book signing from Mary Berry, Levi Roots, Susy Atkins and many more, a beer tasting festival, and a MasterChef Q&A session.

The Invention Test is a chance for ordinary beans-on-toast eaters like me to have my grub tasted, tested and critiqued by the experts. 10 pre-booked candidates have 30 minutes to cook up a storm in the Good Food Show kitchen and John Torode and Greg Wallace will be armed with knife and fork, ready to nibble. And in case any one of the 10 contestants back out, collapse or get disqualified, I have my Warburton’s and Heinz ready to step up to the plate (joking of course).

Having been to the Summer Good Food Show in Birmingham, I’m very excited to discover just what the A/W exhibition will be like!  Hopefully, I’ll be able to grab myself a lovely pork and cranberry bun and some lovely mulled wine.  Exhibitors include Betty’s of Harrogate (cake heaven), Kelly Turkey Farms, Berriew Cider, Snowdonia Cheese Company (must stock up on Ginger Spice!) Russell Hobbs, Simply Crepes, Birmingham Wine School, Jelly Belly, and many more. View a full list of exhibitors here.
