birmingham-children-in-need2Pudsey Bear is in Birmingham tonight. Taking part in a Bhangra event at Millenium Square, our Leeds born yellow-bellied bear has teamed up with BBC Asian Network, BBC Midlands Today and BBC West Midlands to give Bollywood stars a run for their money! Make way for Pudsey the Bhangra Dancing Bear! Read more here.

This isn’t the first time that our Yorkshire bear (originally from Pudsey) has visited us in Birmingham and the West Midlands. In 2008, Pudsey joined Phil Upton at Merry Hill Shopping Centre, and in 2007 party animal Pudsey threw a huge soiree at Birmingham’s Centenary Square!

BBC Children in Need is a UK corporate charity, and each year the huge TV event is the highlight of the BBC calendar. This year, we have the likes of Taylor Swift, the Hollyoaks cast, a lovely sketch from Casualty, the Dragons Den, Pixie Lott, Little Boots and Paulo Nutini joining us for a massive telethon.

It’s great that Pudsey has been able to visit Birmingham once again, but a little birdie tells me that he works very, very hard all year round! He’s busy most of the year raising pennies to help the kids who need it the most. Due to the tremendous support from everyone across the UK, 2009 is set to be another amazing year – so far, we’ve raised £4,867,517 and there’s still time. Make an online donation on the BBC Children In Need website.
