This is East meets West.  This is Yorkshire Pud meets Bourneville.  And it’s all going down in Birmingham for Children in Need 2009.  Pudsey Bear, named after its home, the lovely West Yorkshire town of Pudsey (part of Leeds), is taking a little road trip to Birmingham this November.  To raise money for children, Pudsey will be having a go at Bhangra dancing…

For Children in Need 2009, Pudsey Bear will be teaming up with BBC Asian Network, BBC Midlands Today and BBC West Midlands to deliver one hec’ of a party between 6pm – 11pm on Friday 20th November.  And incase you’re wondering – yes you’re all invited!

Pudsey Bear will be hanging out with BBC WM’s Joanne Malin, BBC Asian Network’s Adil Ray and Tommy Sandhu.  Our lovely mixed-bag of presenters will be hosting the party from Millenium point.  The party is free – call 0370 901 1227 to book tickets.

Watch as Pudsey Bear tries his paw at dhol drumming and gives the Bhangra dance a twirl.  You can also take part in the Bollywood dance workshop and have your photos in the Asian Network Bollywood photobooth!  Come along and show your support for Children in Need.  Children in Need is a dedicated charity that helps disadvantaged children and young people.  Last year alone, Birmingham and the West Midlands public helped to raise £1,224,697  – this money has been awarded to projects in the West Midlands area to change the lives of children.  In the whole of the UK, Children in Need 2008 raised a record breaking £37.8 million!  Can Children in Need 2009 break this amazing record?

Come and see Yorkshire’s very own Pudsey Bear as he visits the wonderful city of Birmingham! This event is free, but tickets are limited – so book yours now on the BBC Tickets Website.  Or call the ticket-line on 0370 901 1227.  Hope to see you there…
