It’s a known fact.  Christmas comes too early.  We’re half way through October we already have Bonfire Night and Halloween to make plans for – but it doesn’t stop the Birmingham Council from putting up the Christmas decorations.  Even if they’ve not been turned on yet, we know they are there.  Yes, Birmingham Council folk, we can see them.

But hey – it’s not just Birmingham and the West Midlands.  There are some towns and cities that are preparing to turn the Christmassy sparkle on in just a week or two. You would think our premature displays reflected how organised the British people are.  No.

No matter how much they try to rush us, Birmingham or otherwise, we like to do things last minute.  Why else do you think Lastminute.com is so successful?

If you don’t want to get caught up in the crowd of Yuletide shoppers at the Bullring, Birmingham, then maybe you can enjoy making your own.  Making your own gifts can save you money, save you the stress of shopping, and give you something fun to do with friends or family members.  But where do you start?

Pop along to the Birmingham Jewellery Making Workshop on Tuesday 10th November and you can learn how to create wonderful Xmas gifts for your friends and family, or just a little something to treat yourself.  You will also be taught how to make lovely gift boxes, so you won’t even have to step foot into Clintons if you don’t want to!

The Jewellery Making Workshop starts at 6pm @ Kings Heath Community Centre in Birmingham.  The workshop is run by Ellie B Jewels, and the creations from this designer include bracelets, earrings, watches, handmade bags and more.  If you would like to find out more information on the upcoming Birmingham Jewellery Making Workshop, visit the Ellie B Jewels website.
